MSS linear low profile solenoids, also referred to as push/pull solenoids, are highly efficient in applications requiring very high holding forces, making them ideal for short strokes. This line of linear solenoids covers a variety of sizes with strokes of up to 25mm (1.0 inch) and holding forces up to 578 N (130 lb). These solenoids usually utilize a shaft supported by a linear bearing which is accessible on both ends, pulling on one end while pushing back from the other end: hence the name push/pull. The low friction surface of the plunger/shaft and proper bearing material support long-life applications. All data on solenoids in this section is based on using D.C. voltages. A.C. voltages may be first rectified using full wave bridge rectifiers and then be used with D.C. solenoids.
